From camera to Canon

Phillip began his working life behind a camera, often a Canon! Working as a Police Photographer, then later as a Press Photographer. He has been  married to Sian for over 40yrs and they have two sons and three grandchildren. Phillip was ordained in Brecon Cathedral in 1989 and served his title as Asst. Curate in the Parish of Clydach and helped out in Chaplaincy at the old Clydach War Memorial Hospital. In 1993 he became Vicar of St.Thomas and Kilvey and was also made Hon Port Chaplain for the Mission to Seafarers. In July 2000 Phillip was Inducted as Vicar of Tycoch, also becoming a part-time Hospital Chaplain at Singleton Hospital until 2019. Phillip was Area Dean for four years until the re-organisation of Deaneries in the Diocese. He was Inducted as Vicar of Killay on 28th January 2016, thereby looking after three churches across two parishes – retaining responsibility for the Parish of Tycoch. In March 2017 Phillip was invited to become an Honorary Canon of Brecon Cathedral and can be seen above on that occasion with Sian, wearing his mozzetta. Interesting to move from one Canon to another!
